UNICEF Fat Truth Campaign

Unicef’s Fat Truth campaign aims to raise awareness on childhood obesity in the UAE by not only involving and educating parents and caregivers but also including healthcare and educational sectors as well as policymakers, government bodies and institutions in the problem solving process. Obesity is starting to become more evident in the UAE, as more and more people are adopting unhealthy and inactive lifestyles, relying on junk food and unhealthy nutritious practices. The campaign was a direct result of a recommendation that came out of the 2008 Arab Children Health Congress. HRH Princess Haya is a Patron of the Fat Truth Campaign.
